This side of the pond we have been using metric for engineering since, well before I trained as a techy in about 1983! So coming to a HD has been a bit of a shock with the mix of metric, UNC, UNF, AF and so on!

So, to help me find what size a bolt is to order a new one or so on, I created a chart that is now pinned to the garage wall... I thought it might be of use to someone else.

Might have lots of errors so use with care & please let me know any errors or ideas!

Also, as I'm a bit of a numpty & like to double check stuff

There is also a chart for converting between decimal (as shown on my digital callipers) and the fractions given in manuals & instructions.

Most of the stuff is UNC, or UNF (SAE), but some, especially the front end and brakes are metric because those components are Japanese.

So useful, thanks for sharing. Recently purchased a 2019 Fat Bob and love it but the rear license plate mount on EU bikes is a visual abomination. It has had to go but getting my head around the variety of Imperial and occasional metric fixings has been a headache. Using a side mounted license plate holder, between the turn signal and side frame requires a longer bolt and your chart has provided some much welcome clarity. Now just need to source the critter.
