Default Removing the tank Emblem?

I've been debating whether or not to remove(debadge) my tank. What I've been doing is totally blacking out my bike..Everything...Even the kickstand..it's 2015 softail slim. normally, I probably wouldn't consider removing the badge if it wasn't for it being chrome and not fitting in with the blacked out scheme..It's alike a sore thumb...Just curious what others think. Especially with the style I'm going for.

Another option that might look cool would be to black out the badge with Plastidip. People do it all the time on car emblems and it's totally reversible.

I wouldn't do it till spring, so I'll debate it..but I'm probably just going to remove them..It's pretty much the only chrome thing on my bike, so it needs to be gone to complete the look..

De-badging was not as easy as other make it sound. I have the black denim as well and the adhesive was a real pain in the *** to get off without leaving a blemish on the paint. I just did this job a few weeks ago using a heat gun and a few different adhesive removers. I ended up leaving a small scuff of the paint on one side trying to remove adhesive. The reflectors and such came off 100 times easier than the tank badges. Whoever put them on my bike did a damn good job.

Both my bikes have no emblems at all -- a lot of people want to know what bikes they are, well a Shovelhead and a Ironhead

I removed the emblems using ~5lb test fishing line tied into a loop, then
twisted so it made a 'saw cut' type action on the adhesive. Worked pretty
well. I ran with no emblem for awhile, then added an older style
that I hit with 00000 steel wool to take away the shine. Here's a few
old pics.

I like the tank badge. It goes well with those rocker box covers. BTW where and what are those rocker box covers?
