Default True duels

Hello my name is Donald. I am new to the site and new to biking in general, I just bought my first bike and would appreciate some input.

I have a 2014 Softail deluxe cvo. I want to put true duals on this and would appreciate any and all advise. Brand, performance, additional pieces to complete the install. ect

Thanks in advance.

Welcome Donald! I have been looking at exhaust systems for my Heritage Softail for a few weeks now. There are a handful of companies that make duels for softails, Vance & Hines, and Cobra make some that end around the rear axle and are round straight pipe look. If you are wanting some to come out to your fender tip to clear hard bags then Freedom Performance makes a couple sets, Bassani power curve, and Samson makes a few with straight pipes and also with fishtails, as well as the extended cholos. these are all true dual with no crossover pipe for scavenging. I have read that true duels with out a crossover will hurt your low end torque and also read that it will not affect it if tuned properly. Hopefully someone else can contribute more to this as I am still trying to figure it out as well. Good luck with your search. And don't forget to take pictures and post them up here.

Hi Donald,

Welcome to the Forum!

I have True Dual Exhaust on my Softail and really enjoy them.

Here are a few options-

For more pics and details on True Dual exhaust, click HERE.

I don't know if you've done a Stage I upgrade to your bike yet. Changing the exhaust is part of it, the next step is a free flowing air cleaner, and then some sort of a tuner.

You can see read an overview Stage I upgrades HERE.

I put Vance and Hines True Duals on my 2015 CVO Deluxe. I've had zero problems so far and after the dyno-tune, the bike really woke up. No low end torque problems or otherwise. Heat on the left leg is the only thing that I have to watch out for but no burns yet.

I have V&H true duals on my heritage. I Had V&H slip ons before the duals.... both are stage one and tune with an fp3. And yes I felt it lost just a little something with the duals . But its worth it for the look.

Lost something? Torque or HP? Or throttle response? I have the 110 Screaming eagle engine, do you think I will lose something also or maybe I should go with smaller diameter pipes. Thoughts anyone?
