Default 2016 Softail Deluxe solo seat options..

Has anyone installed a solo seat onto their 2016 Deluxes? Apparently there was a frame alteration in 2016, so finding a seat that actually fits is getting difficult. Mustang doesn't have any of their standard tripper seats available for the 16 model year and just tried a Danny Gray Buttcrack solo and it doesn't fit properly either. The bike is my wife's and she's needing the seat to be lower and more narrow. I contacted Lepera and they confirmed that they ship a different bracket with the seats for the 16 deluxe bikes, but can't confirm if the bracket comes with seats that are currently in stock with other vendors. I just don't want to keep ordering seats that I have to return because they don't fit. Online vendors show the seats fitting all standard fender bikes from 2000-2017, but that's not true. The search continues.

Give C&C a call. I just upgraded from their solo to their Fastback on my '14 Deluxe. I found the Fastback to be even more comfortable than their solo. Haven't taken any pics yet, just getting back from Biketoberfest to a huge 'honey do' list.

I already called them, they don't make a seat for the 16+ Deluxe models. Looks like the search continues.

Looks like the issue isn't so much the frame or tank area, it's the size of the ECU on the 16+ bikes that's changed. Since they went to TBW in 2016, the ECU changed and it's now larger. So, the seatpans for the previous years won't work. Might have to have a totally custom seat made. Good times.

Yeah, I spoke with C&C, Lepera, Mustang, Corbin and Saddlemen today trying to come up with a solution, no luck. They all have plans to have seats for the 16+ bikes in the future, but as of right now no dice. Lepera did say that they have a bracket that they send out with all 16+ seats that would work, but it's still using the 15 and lower seat pans.

So, it looks like I'll be sending the stock seat to Mean City Cycles to be modified for now. They are going to lower it, remove some width and add memory foam for 115 bucks. Should help out with my wife being able to flat foot the bike and feel more confident.

Just wondering how tall your wife is. A Deluxe is awful low as it is.
My wife on a 16

I did the same job from MCC. Absolutly luv it. She will have to put several hundred miles on it before it gets right. But when it gets broke in, it's awesome.

My wife is 5'3" with a 27" inseam, so pretty short. She's able to get her feet on the ground, but the width of the seat is kicking her legs out. MCC is going to narrow up the nose of the seat and drop down the seating area about 2", this should make it much easier for her to get her feet flat on the ground.
