Yup, they are pre-curved, that is why you have to find the "sweet spot" to fit them. Sounds more complicated than it is.

The badge will "float" a bit, so is not completely flush with the tank

 

I could never find that "sweet spot" on my deluxe. Kept catching my cleaning & polishing cloths & sometimes my pants while riding Decided to replace them with '58 badges.

 

That is why I indicated that the badge "floats" a bit. Had a picture of it somewhere. Since I repainted mine in denim white before I put the badges on it never had a problem with catching polishing cloths.
