Grind the two holes upwards about 1/2" and re-install and push down on both mufflers after putting them on. Don't tighten the muffler clamps until headers are tight, which pulls them upward, then tighten the mufflers clamps onto the headers. This dropped my pipes 1" and caused the rear muffler to exit exhaust at slight drop angle.

Doesn't that place a lot of strain/pressure on the head? That all can't be good when things heat up and vibration starts to take its toll. You may find things starting to crack.
No nothing is strained or undo pressure. It settled itself , what I mean is to move the muffler down a little within its movement just on the header pipe after the header is tight. Being slotted, there is some movement before tightening the clamp on the muffler.

Best of both worlds a Softail with touring bags.

Texas, I've always admired your bike in other posts and infact you got me going on this job!.....Thanks!
Don't do what I did yesterday. My bag key is different and I put my bike's key in and turned it, which jammed it and could get the key out!
I was at a friend's auto shop and finally used some large pliers and twisted it out breaking the lock. New bag locks ordered...LOL...Not funny at the time.
I ordered the narrow bullet turn signals today from HD, thought what the hell, never saw a hearse with a trailer hitch!

A buddy of mine had his bags cut out so the turn signals are recessed into them. Looks pretty trick and the bags look like they were meant to be on his bike. Looks slick.
