I find it hard to believe a Softail can do a wheelie in third gear.

I raced a friend of mine while on my Ducati. My bike is supposed to do 0 to 60 in 3.5 second his in 2.9 seconds. Anyway I beat him. You know why? Because his bike wanted to wheelie the whole time. My Ducati doesn't really want to. I can get the front wheel up but I have to try. So that makes me want to believe that a 650 pound low to the ground bike with limited horse power isn't going to get the wheel off the ground. You should get somebody to make a video of you doing a wheelie on your bike.

He said he hit something and his front wheel bounced off the ground. Why is that hard to believe? He didn't say he power wheelied it.

Man that is something you don't see every day. You done very good. As for the new super bikes stay awayI traded in a '03 GSXR 1000 in for my FatBoy. It had 147hp @ 165mph with top speed of 180mph straight form the showroom floor.Like they say crotch rocket. If you have never rode one it is something else. I got my HD to get away from all that crazyness.Cutting curves @115mph is fun but OMG what was I thinking.[8D]Now its Harley all the way. Yall ride safe.
I have a similar story -
But if you look closely at my shadow you still might see a faint silhouette of a track racer.. [&:]

Stupid me 'used' to do it, when I first started riding. But with age and experience comesabetter appreciation for the principals of self preservation.
In other words I stopped doing stuff like that when Ihadsurvived long enough to learnthatcontrary to my earlier beliefs. I'm not nearly as imortal as I though I was and don't healas easily or as quickly as I did 30 years ago.
