Can't disagree with you. My dealer gives free tires if you get the bike serviced there but it's still $100 for labor. I'm at 15k and it's almost due for the 3rd new rear tire.

Wow, what tire brand/model? My FB got nearly 15k on stock dunlops. Maybe there was a bad batch?

I have stock Dunlops 200. This is the Fat Boy S, rear tire wear seems to be excessive on them.

I just have to say, your setup is an awful lot like a Heritage.

Is your engine stock?

I agree. Awesome tourer. Did 750km in one day. Just filling gas. Loved it.

@MikeWillmont: I have Dunlop's and they last about 10.000 km so yes, from that perspective it's not the cheapest touring bike on the planet...

@JohnK: thanks; there's a few more things down the pipeline (handlebars, LED turn signals and a FP3) but in general this is how I want the bike to look

@Prot: the engine is standard with one minor exception: V&H slip-ons

What year is your Fatboy. Earlier models have a thinner rear tire. The 200mm eat rubber.

Good info. I am at 4K so guess I should start checking my tread depth regularly with the meter.

The better half only got 5000 on her stock ones too (13 lo and 16S), but switched to Michelin commander and easily gets 10000 plus out of them.
