2016 slim s, or wait for 2017 models

It funny this is what happened. I waited for the 2017 slim s... I told them I just take the new one. I was trading in my streetglide.. They said now, the 2017 came out, the book prices changed on the older ones. and now my bike was worth 1,000 less for a trade in.
So would give a great price on 16,but 1,500 more for a 17.
