Default Softail Slim rear fender?

Hey guys, I have a 15 softail slim and am looking for a shorter fender. Im not sure if I can cut mine down to make it look ok. I ride with a passenger a couple times a year, not to often.
Ive checked out the RSD kit, but they told me its going to be difficult to get it to fit my bike. Ive also looked at Ricks short and that one looks pretty cool too. I would like to keep my stock seat cause I put a few $ into it having Alligator Bob customize it.

Any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks

Default I cut @ 6" off ...

Black Craigslist fender: I used a cutoff wheel, removed about 6 inches, and then smoothed and shaped the edge with a 3M sanding wheel. Touched up the edge with black paint. I added a center HD tail light from a Street Bob. I can still use a P pad and carry a passenger, original struts still support the fender.

Top bike here started out as a Slim:

Pretty sure it's just a factory fender cut down (along with the plastic inner liner and tail lights removed) and the factory struts. No reason he couldn't run a passenger that I can see.

Before I did the 200 conversion on the back of my bike I had chopped about 3"-4" off the back of the Blackline rear fender (same fender as the Slim)
Cut at the same profile, I also mounted the fender about an inch lower in the struts (drilled new holes and had the old ones plugged. Seat fit perfect, passenger seat fit perfect..pretty much looked stock (only better in my opinion)

Nice job there blackp5. I like how you lowered the fender as well. Might have to give that a try.

Blackp5ca, what brand/length handlebars and cable kit did you go with? Those look great.
