Default V&H softail duals- "HOT"

Just got a set of these for my 04 Heritage and really like them.Still waiting for my fishtail tips though.

For those that have these have you noticed the heat that generates under your left thigh coming up from the left header pipe. Was in stop-start traffic today for about 45mins and my thighs where getting very warmish. And no it wasnt a hot day at all.

Just an observation......

Nature of the beast. Considering some ceramic tape under the heat sheild. But I do love 'em. I have the fish tips and what a difference. They look fabulous. And gurgle a bit more too.

I agree - but it's nothing that would change my mind about the pipes. I just tried the Sundowner seat and it sits you even lower, and I burned my inner thigh the other day (wearing shorts and duck-walking the bike to turn it around). Getting rid of that seat and will try the Springer seat that everyone seems to like.

PS Had some other riders come up behind me as I cranked it up a little in 3rd gear to crest a hill. All were impressed with the sound. One said it sounded "like the panheads of old...". I do have the baffles that take the edge off. Love those pipes.

I'm waiting for the fishtails myself. Can't wait to install those bad boys when they come in.
