you can use it, I wouldn't. --- just me..

here's the read out of that GL at Redline's site that states .

http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=140&pcid=7

Recommended for Nissan 350Z and 370Z (also most Maxima, Altima & Sentra), Mitsubishi Evolution, Hyundai, and Kia applications
Many NV4500 truck transmission applications like Chevy Silverado and Dodge Ram, for Chrysler spec MS-9070
Safe for brass synchros, as it lacks the reactive sulfurs found in most GL-5 oils that cause damage
Offers quicker shifts, perfect synchronizer coefficient of friction
Eliminates notchy shifting, even when cold
High performance gear protection and longer synchro life
Recommended for GL-1, GL-3 and GL-4 applications as well as where most special synchromesh fluids are specified
Satisfies the gear oil viscosity requirements of 75W, 80W, 85W and motor oil viscosities of SAE 30 and 5W30

I am not going to say what I've used for the last 40K miles cause I am not going to turn this into another what's the best - oil thread.

But, I will say for me an oil that even Redline say's it equal to a SAE 30 or 5W30 oil is not something I'd put in my Tranny..

Do tell, Im not trying to come off like a know it all, I'd love to have that discussion. The purchase was an accident because I didn't read the label and I haven't put it in yet.

Oil threads are common, maybe too common by some standards, on the forum. If you would like more info, to include what most people are using, you can peruse the oil subforum. Here is the link:

If it helps. Some one had the HD Formula + tested and it is straight 50W motor oil.

Like the others have said already. It'll be fine in there, particularly if you change all you fluids regularly as most of us caring Harley Davidson enthusiast do.

I can see how that would be true, since harleys syn3 stuff that goes in all 3 holes would need to be at least 50w for the motor.. good point.
