Default 'Touring models' fender - will it fit my Slim?

So I'm looking to order a Deluxe-styel fender for my Slim.

The one I'm looking at is described as:

Front Fender for Early ‘Touring’ Models
A precisely-crafted reproduction of the 54-84 4-speed ‘Dresser’ front fender with properly rolled edges and structural reinforcement. Will also fit Touring models from 80-13.

SKU: 13193 Unpainted steel

Does that soudn like it's gonna fit my Slim? The Shop guy says it will but then I've read conflicting info saying the 'touring' model bikes have slightly different front fender mounts to the other FL's (Slim, Fatboy, Heritage, Deluxe)

Anyone know for sure?

The mounts are definitely different comparing an 02 Heritage and an 02 Road King. I was just looking at the different mounts last night as a matter of fact. That's not to say you couldn't make it work though, you just may have to get creative with the forks or the fender mounts or both. I can't recall how much difference it was and by how much but it was very noticeable when I was looking at the fenders. I can take pictures tonight and post tomorrow if you'd like to see.

If I remember right the fender bosses on the Heritage forks are longer which made the fender mounting tabs hang pretty well straight down. The Road King's fork bosses were shorter and the fender mounting tabs "bulged" outward. With that being said, you could take the Heritage fender and put it on the Road King and just machine spacers to center the fender up. But to put the Road King fender on the Heritage you'd have to either machine the fork bosses down or cut the fender mounting tabs off and make some new ones that were straight.

The first link shows the Road King fender and how the mounts "bulge" outward that I mentioned.

This second link shows the Heritage fender and how the mounts are straight.

The front fender off a dyna switchback will fit your slim. I have a slim fender on my switchback and it mounted right up. take a look and see if that is a look you may want.

Problem solved

Custom Chrome do a Heritage front fender (part No. 13255) which can come 'smooth', so no dimples or holes for the various trims

My local independant has ordered it for me. Perfect.
