Default Bike swap crisis

So, I own a newish Indian Dark Horse, but have really been having a lot of problems with the dealership...

I have the opportunity to trade it for a 2016 Softail Slim S. I know this isn't the most impartial crowd, but I need some advise. I have had a Fat Boy in the past and made a snap decision to try out the Indian. I like it fine, but miss the Harley.

Anyone have any input. Part of my reasoning for the trade was ground clearance. I HATE scraping floor boards. It scares the **** outta me.

I don't know about the Indian but I can assure you that scraping the board is a problem for you on the Indian the slim isn't the greatest for ground clearance. I had a slim in 2012 and my board were damaged a lot from scraping.

The Indian doesn't scrape floorboards... Ever. At least not that I've been able to reproduce. Is the slim worse than the fatboy?

I never tried a fat boy but the slim is one of the lowest bike in the line up look up any review on youtube and you will hear the boards scrape.

I ride with a guy that is not an aggressive rider and he was scraping boards on day 1 with the slim.

I thought I saw a post recently of a floorboard lift for the slim to prevent scraping. Can't find it now, but maybe someone will chime in.

Just my opinion, I'd trade just to get off the Fugly Indian. Never have been a fan of the Indian styling.

best bet is to test ride the slim. I think its sits a bit higher than my breakout. I don't know anything lower than the BO. when i took the breakout for a test ride I asked them to hit highways and back roads just so I can get a feel for its limitations. I heard these bikes scraped easily. I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't the case. At least not during the test ride. yes, on tight corners, and at certain speeds you can scrape very easily but if you're careful it's actually not that bad. people made it sound like it would scrape just making a normal left turn. under normal riding it's fine. spirited riding, canyon carving.. it's not the bike you should be on... the slim looks like a fun bike. go for it.
