Default V&H slash on the 07 FLSTC

After jumping back and forth and all around different ideas I put a set of the Vance & Hines twin slash pipes on today, took it for a short ride and it may take some getting used to. The wife says they're fine but I can tell she's not a fan, she's just being nice. They're much louder than I expected. I was really looking for just a different rumble, not really a louder rumble........but I'll give them some time, maybe they'll grow on me.

I have 'em on my '10 FLSTN and thought the exact same thing. I put the "quiet" baffles in which are not quiet, but sounds much better. I love the sound now!

I think I'll run up the road to the local shop to see if they have the quiet ones in stock. If they don't I'll just order a set.

A three quarter helmet and some ear plugs for the wife might assist as well.

I too run the quiet baffles. That's why I asked. Much better note and still good volume. Side note... I had a pretty tight fit with the quiet baffles and trying to align the set screw. Wrapped the fiberglass with stainless steel safety wire to ease installation. Be patient

Quiet baffles also take the tiney sound out. I think they are about as perfect can be. Not to loud but plenty of shout when you get on it.

Yes, thats true. I can cruise out to work at 6am and not upset the neighbors. But, when I get on her!!!

And, they were a major pain in my **** getting those baffles in..... I am sure they are in for good now.

I also went with the quiet baffles. Surprisingly I had no problems installing them.

Just ordered a set/pair of baffles. Can anyone tell me if I'll be able to slide the heat shield forward enough to get to the screw? I'm really not looking forward to the job if I have to take everything off again......those stock clamps sucked.
