2007 Heritage Classic Question
I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them. Last Sunday my husband and I rent for a ride. We were riding the back canyons of Utah and about 200 miles into the ride my bike just died! We were climbing but I have done this many times before since we do live in mountain country. I let the bike sit for a few minutes and then tried to start it up. It started like nothing was wrong. Rode the rest of the day and have riden several times since and it has not happened again. We went to the local Harley dealership and they tell us that they haven't heard of this. I can't get my bike in until next Friday but they say they will find out what happened. In the meantime I am not sure that I want to go on a long ride. Might get up in the mountains where there is no cell service and be stranded. Has this happened to you.

RE: 2007 Heritage Classic Question
The tank fuel valve is controlled by vacuum. In a steep climb the vacuum is gone and the fuel shuts off. Next time your on a steep climb , downshift a gear and take the load off the engine and get the rpm's up and you should have enough vacuum to keep the fuel valve open. I only know this because i read it on another post. My bike is to old to have a vacuum fuel valve

RE: 2007 Heritage Classic Question
Reading other the touring forum on this site one of the guys with a 2007 Ultra had this happen a few times ie. the bike just quit and then restarted ok. his bike ended up having a new ECM fitted and this cured it. Maybe not the same problem that you have had but symptoms were the same.

RE: 2007 Heritage Classic Question
Mine did a similar thing last weekend. But, it was as I was finishing a right hand turn and had hit the right turn signal button to turn off the turn signal. My wife almost has me convinced that I accidentally hit the kill switch. Refired no problem and hasn't happened since. I will be watching this thread for updates.
