My 2016 Breakout

Like the OP said, the National Cycle flyscreen actually works quite well, despite looking like its too small to do anything. I got one after reading lots of positive reviews. You can reach around with your hand when riding, and feel that there's a "dead zone" that covers most of the chest area, where wind pressure is much reduced. Saves wear and tear on the hands from holding on against the wind blast. But best of all, there is less buffeting than anything else I've ever ridden behind.
Only downside I've found is that in strong crosswinds, the dead zone can be blown off to one side, leaving you exposed to the full wind blast. And in gusty crosswinds, the protection will come and go.

What Warp said is accurate in my experience. It does make a surprising difference. Still get the full "wind in your face" experience, but the pressure off the chest really helps cut fatigue at highway speeds. I had my doubts when I installed it, but I'm really glad I got it.

nice bike man.. congrats. i went back and forth on the color choice when i purchased my 16 a few weeks ago. the charcoal denim is truly nice but i was concerned about scratches and stuff so i went with the standard vivid black. wife had a little influence. note to self, don't take the wife when you're picking out a bike. You made a nice choice. enjoy and don't worry about doing too much at once.. there are enough options out there to make you crazy. It's been raining for the last two weeks so I haven't done much either other than exhaust and LED turn signals. hopefully this weekend will be nice enough to ride and take some pics. enjoy the ride.. the inspirations will hit you when the time is right.
