Default 200/210 Wide Tire Kit for Deuce

Just curious who out there has either one of these kits and who you went with ? Any pics available would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what all would have to be changed in order to go with a 200 or 210 ?

Thanks in advance !!!

Chris

I probably wouldn't be able to help much anyway, but i'll go ahead and ask, for someone else.

1. What kind of bike?
2. What year?

Woops, didn't notice earlier that you said it was a Deuce, sorry about that. For some reason, I thought a 200 would fit on a Deuce without too much fuss, with the factory equipment?

JMHO,
If you stay with a 17" go with the 200x55x17.
Stay away from the 210x50x17.
The 210 is a shorter, lower profile tire and doesn't look right on a Harley.

there are two basic set-ups.....one replaces the belt with the 06 and newer softail belt, that is narrower.....the other mainly uses spacers to get the clearance needed......both seem to work fine but i wanted a little more clearance than the spacer type was going to give me.......

Theres less than an inch difference between the 180 and 200.Not worth the money to me.I'd stick with the 180.

flexx,

I swapped out the stock 160mm for a 200mm Metz on my 07 Deuce. The 200mm fits with the stock swingarm but i needed to change the belt out for a narrower one (which involved removing the swingarm and taking the primary apart). I'm also running a chromed lower belt guard and the HD part for the 2007 doesn't fit if you go for the 200mm and you'll need to use the 2006 version... i think the dealer who did the install for me also needed to grind a bit of it out to ensure clearance. My rim is an 18 x 5.5 Arlen Ness and a spacer was also required to keep it all centred but i don't have dimensions on the spacer - it will be determined by the rim and hub you run. You'll also need to check clearance under the rear fender. Consider also the requirements of the pulley (width).

Here's the changeover parts needed from HD:
- New belt - 40655-06
- Oil seal inner primary - 12052A
- Gasket primary housing - 34934-06
- Gasket primary cover - 60547-06
- Lubricant (quart) - 99851-05
- 06 lower belt guard - 60316-00A

As part of the changeover process i had my dealer fit a 180mm (cheaper option as it's a straight swap for the 160mm) and then fit the 200mm. The 200mm fills the fender up much more. Seeing them side by side I went with the 200mm... the 20mm isn't a lot but it is noticeable. There's a photo of the rear in my gallery.
