My bike spends the winter in my garage but during riding season, it sits in front of my garage and all is good. I feel as long as a person treats the leather seat with some kind of leather protection, it should help it last longer than if nothing was done to it. Enjoy your new seat.
I mentioned that Reaper lives outside, and the sales guy told me as long as I treated the leather it's all good. Of course, I then promptly forgot to order the conditioner when I ordered the seat, hahah!! I'll get some off their website. I'm sure Doc Bailey's will do the trick as well.

Thanks again, man!

Cheers!
