^^ Got it- 2500 is pretty low rpm for top gear - you should have a plenty usable range up through redline. Tell ya what, if you can give me your gears and ratios I can figure it all out for you. but I need the numbers- for example, here are my Breakout numbers:
Primary Drive Chain, 34/46
Secondary Drive Belt, 30/70
if you know what year the 5 speed tranny is, it if is stock I can find the internal gear ratios.

It's a '96 5 speed. I'm not I'm to speed with the ratios for every model some I'm not sure what Im working with. It's a new build I'll be starting on soon, just collecting parts now. It's not a stock tranny eithe by the looks it my be an Ultima or revtech 5 speed. It does feel much shorter then my 07 6 speed, so I don't want to get crazy with shortening it too much. The bike will be much lighter, and it's a 110 cube, so Im crossed up on wether to go for a stock like ratio or a fraction shorter. Thought I could go a smaller sproket on the tranny and if it's too short then thro a larger sproket on the rear to save the effort of pulling the primary again
I was hoping some ones already toyed with these ratios already on the earlier5 speeds and could just tell me straight. I looked into those calculators and there's a lot of info I can't find to fill it in properly so I'm here hoping for a quick answer

Thanks man. Got a bdl evo 9s going on in a couple weeks. Plus another thing I just thought of is I'm changing the rear tyre to an old shinko 270 tread, I have a feeling that will be a taller tyre to.
The more I ride it the more I'm thinking the ratios pretty good. I have ridden anything else the last couple weeks but this bike and I've been getting the feel for it more. It does seem to feel like it's sitting in a nice rpm for a 5 speed on the hiway, and i guess the pickup isn't so bad after all. Maybe all in my head after all.
