I like the drag bar but I'm 6'2". I've thought about the Ape Hangers. But maybe later on.

The only thing I can figure, is the front end is bigger and heavier and someone thought it needed a wider than crap handlebar. Maybe so but it kills my shoulders after 1-2 hours, where my narrower bars on my Blackline took a lot longer.

yeh I think the wide bars were more for styling - they sort of have that retro "beach bar" drag bar style- like my Pro Street 2001 Big Dog came with stock. But my Big Dog has an even more massive front set of forks and I'm running a narrow mini drag bar on it- no problem at all. Only thing with the BO it's hard to find the fatter tubed "lane splitter" drag bars.

IF I had the money...and I don't...I'd get some taller risers, say 6" tall and narrow the bars down 6" on each end.
I lane split a lot i think with this wide drag bar that is going to hinder me.

Thanks for the tip i will look into the Carlini drag bars.

As it is, the seat sucks the most- it's too flat, too high, and you tend to slide off the back punching it if riding without the passenger pillion. just wanted to mention it in case you were thinking about also getting a new seat or customizing the stock seat, which many BO owners end up doing. I'll be doing my seat in the next couple of weeks.
I took one for a test ride before i made my purchase i didn't have reach problem but i felt myself leaning forward reaching for the bar - if i rode like that for 30 minutes i think it will be painful for my back.

You easily slide back on the stock seat (as many have noted sitting ontop of the rear bolts.
The seat is a great idea i will look into that on Revzilla thanks for the tip.

Ok i am so jealous of you tall guys being that tall only sucks when you are at a pub or in a night club there will always be some short *** drunk guys trying to pick a fight with you

I too have thought about using ape hangers I dont really like the full ape hangers i saw them on a few BO and they looked weird but I will probably go for a mini ape just like the one i had on my street bob.

Was just thinking of another option for the dragbar, Fat Bob's one.
Diameter should be the same, similar shape but a little shorter...and it's available both in black and chrome...might be a different idea...

Here's a link to mine with the carlini's. Overall super comfortable over the stock bars.

Thanks for the link to the thread I really like this bar it looks like so much easier to use without having to reach forward.

They are probably some of the most comfortable bars I've ever had. On the stock risers though, they sit back enough that you sit upright on the bike so if you want a tad more of a forward lean, you need to get some lower risers either through thunderbike or by adding the CVO breakout risers/clamp setup.

We will just try the bar so my wife doesn't have to stretch forward as much she's only 5'8" hopefully it will be much better for her with this bar on
