Ya, very weird... The front fender and chin spoiler were painted at the same time with same paint and prep. The rear was the only piece that was bare steel, the front was primered and the spoilers fiberglass, so my guess would be an oil or something was on it that should have been cleaned off before the prep work....we'll see!!

I dropped the chin spoiler off at the painters today...They wanted it for a paint match when they do the fender, but I also want them to fix a flaw that went unnoticed for several weeks after they originally painted it.

There's what look like runs in the clear coat at the top of the vent slots traveling upwards. They offered to fix it at the time, but it's very hard to see and only shows up if the light hits it just right, so I didn't bother.

Well, I probably should have, because even though I don't think anybody has noticed it, knowing it's there has bugged the hell out of me since then!!

So, I figured now's the time to take care of it.

Here's a couple pics...Normally it looks fine, like the 1st one, but in the right light at the right angle, you can see the runs.

I saw that DK Custom Products has a new style tank lift, so I ordered one...The original, that I have now (pictured below), is welded steel and was only available in black. The new one is CNC cut from 6061 Billet Aluminum and is still available in gloss black, or now with a Machine Cut Finish, which is what I ordered.

Now I'm gonna pull out my buffing wheels and compounds and see if I can polish them up to a little more of a chrome look!!....After pics coming soon.

I painted the tank lift in the same colour of the bike, and look better and totally oem.

Looks totally OEM Val. Great job with it.
Hey, mind sharing where the crossover fuel line came from? Or did you make
it your self?

Ya, I think they should look good, and I'm happy with the way the 6061 aluminum polished up, not quite chrome... but close! They came out better than the stainless bolt.

Here's a before and a couple after pics....
