Sorry for all the questions in a string of posts. I picked up this bike this past season and now during the off season I am trying to get as much done to it as possible, or at least as much as I can convince my wife we can afford to do.
I didn't need to install a load equalizer (Badlands Illuminator) until I installed the Thunderbike rear fender with it's LED lights. When I only had the front LEDs, they worked fine, with no rapid flash of the lights or dash indicators.

The front signals are TruFLEX 1.5" amber LEDs with clear housings, and the install is simple. They come with 3M automotive grade tape for mounting on the back surface, but I wanted them facing forward, under the controls and not on the front of them. So, I left the tape on the back so no light shows thru from behind, and used new tape to mount them. I purchased and used the optional 3M Promoter adhesive primer before adhering them, and ran a small bead of clear silicon along the back/top edge of the lights, just to be sure they stay stuck. I also used a couple of small dots of clear silicon to keep the wires up/tight and hidden from the front.

Ya, they do a nice job of disappearing when off...

Thanks for the info, I do love the minimalist look. I do plan on making a custom rear fender and doing a strip of LEDs in it for the run/turn/brake but that won’t be for a little while, so it’s goid to know I don’t have to worry about the load equalizer until I do that.

I want to replace the pulley first and I know that will move my rear tire. I also want to go to a 260 rear tire and since I want the new fender to hug the tire I will wait until all of that is done as the position will change in the swingarm. Since it’s already March I won’t get too much done before riding season starts here again in NY.

Thabks again for sharing this and all the other stuff you did with your build. It’s a beautiful bike and gives a lot of inspiration.

How do you like that 2 inch BDL? Any regrets with it? I guess 2 inch is the standard now. Can't seem to find a 3 inch open primary that will fit the Rocker or Breakout... Any issues with sprockets loosing up? From another thread, a member said the Rivera Primo uses steel sprockets, and thus no loctite needed (just needs to be torqued down), as opposed to the BDL drives that use aluminum sprockets. The heat cycle on the aluminum sprocket and steel shaft differ, thus the copious amount of loctite needed. Any truth to that you've seen from your personal experience?

I really like the BDL, no regrets...If I ever go open belt on the BO, it'll be another 2" BDL but in black (IMO 3" sticks out too far). I've had zero issues with it and BDL has been building them the same way for years, I'm sure if the heat cycles were a problem they would have changed the design long ago.

Do you remember the part number from the BDL on your Rocker? I'm parousing their site and they have several 2 inch belts, but it says specifically not for Breakout or Rocker...haha

It's part # EVO-8SR

Under description it says:
2" ROCKER KIT 2008-UP, POLISHED
FITS 2014 BREAKOUT

I talked to BDL before ordering, I don't think it's shown on their site.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I think I'll give them a call, because you're right, it's not on the site anywhere. And I didn't mean to sound snarky in my previous post. I've had 2 choppers in the past with a 3 inch BDL and loved them, and had no problems. I just thought I'd ask since another member put a RP on his BO instead of a BDL, claiming the heat cycle issues with the aluminum sprockets... Ultimately, anything involving moving parts (especially the primary), needs to be torqued down heavily (to spec of course).

Rocker, do you remember about how much you paid for it?

So on the RP site, this is what comes up when I search for "Rocker." No part number or anything, but sounds like it will work. But at $2600 bones.......ouch. Is a 3 inch worth that...plus labor to install. That's the real question.

So the 2 inch sticks out about as far as the stock primary and cover you'd say? Do you notice any left lean restrictions? I know with choppers that are low with that wide 3 inch, the left lean is significantly reduced. However, with air ride and the BO sitting up higher than a traditional chopper, maybe the 3 inch would be ok...? Hmmm...
