So, I ordered another console "trim insert" and will have it painted to match the bike. Here's why I've decided to change it out.....The stock console had a painted insert, and I liked it. I think it will look cool, kind of a customized cross between the Rocker and Deuce console. I also am having a bad problem with the glare when out in the sun, it can be blinding bouncing off the insert, and the painted one will eliminate that. The Deuce insert also has the IGN/OFF/ACC, which has no purpose on the Rocker and will no longer be visible....

Here's a pic of the stock console with the painted insert, and a few of the current insert, the glare is worse in the sun, but the flash pic gives you an idea...

Yeah, that's the downside of all this nice chromed and polished stuff, eh? Looks awesome but can be very annoying in the sunlight. Ask me how I know

Good decision anyway, thumbs up!

The tacho 5" look better in the fxcwc. I installed the tacho 5" in my bike, and I am very happy with the look and result.

I'm not changing the speedo/tach, just painting the console insert. I'm very happy with the Dakota Digital and like it's clean look.....

It was gonna start raining again today, no plans to ride, so I decided it would be a good time to apply a sealant to all the chrome, and the polished steel BDL open belt drive and Tecnicad coil cover. I used "Wizards" brand "Power Seal", I bought a while back on the recommendation of another forum member (Ink83 I think) and I really like it!! It's not only an "acrylic" sealer, but also a "micro polish". None of my chrome was in bad shape, but some of the original chrome did have some minor lines/scratches that were visible up close, normal 8yr. ware and tare.... Now, after using the Wizards, the original looks as good as the new!! I'm a big fan so far, we'll see how well it holds up. It says to allow 24-48hrs. "curing time", but it's supposed to rain for a few days so the bike wont be out in the elements anyways....

A few pics...
