I'm familiar with your beautiful country and beaches. spent 6 months there - bought an old beater holden and drove from Sydney up to cairns (and then back!). stopped at every decent beach and city along the way, dove the reef way up north. I don't know what's more beautiful there- the expansive endless stretches of beaches with primo waves, or the multitude of hot babes. some of the damn friendliest people I've ever met too. so "good on ya mate", nice place to live.
when you build a shiny bike you don;t realize what a pita it is to maintain until later- labor of love and lots of Mothers Billet Polish, lots of Wenol or Simichrome for the chrome.
I use this stuff now called "protect-a-clear" metal coating - google it. it is from a small company in california. artists use it to coat their bare metal and jewelry works and it keeps the metal from oxidizing. it is completely invisible and can stand up to 600 degrees at which point it just flashes off. it is not like a clear poly or anything it actually lays into the metal and is invisible. I put it all over my polished engine / trans and it still looks like the day I had it polished. I also used it on my stainless grill, and my huge amount of copper fence topping that I custom patina'd with acids- three years later it looks the same. you just wipe it on with a microfiber, let it dry, do a couple of coats, done. stuff is not cheap but it is worth price paid. you only use a little so a small container goes a long way on a bike. a quart is plenty.
I coated my polished forks but the coating is microscopic and does not hold up to road debris, so over time any small pits will penetrate the coating, oxidize and you'll need to buff / recoat. but 2/3'rds of my forks never need polishing now (sides, back etc).

So I decided I wanted to go ahead and swap out the cams....Choosing which to go with was the hard part. .....Well, after 3 weeks of looking at cam specs, dyno sheets, talking to several of the manufactures and getting opinions from a few of the well known engine builders on the Tech forum, I went with the S&S 583!! I wanted something "bolt-in" and my first thought was the 583 lift would be to much for the stock springs, but learned differently... I also wanted something with the torque strong in the low/mid range, and with an intake close at 18* (which bumps my dynamic comp up to 9.1/1) I figured it would be real strong down low, but I was really surprised when looking at the dyno sheets, how it's "on" from 1500rpm, strongest from 2200-4200, but still pulls hard past 5000rpm. Combined with my 30t/70t pulley mod, the Rocker C is gonna be a TORQUE-Y little S.O.B. ....When researching, I found a lot of cam descriptions that had "broad torque band" in them, but I couldn't find any dyno sheets showing a cam that comes on as early as the 583's that didn't die out by 4k......Eventually, I would like to install a 107 kit, but figure this will be a nice little bump in performance until then!!....The cam kit, that comes with new Torrington inner bearings and gaskets etc. came in today, and I also ordered the S&S adjustable push rod kit, that comes with new chrome covers, which I'm waiting on before I can do the install. Maybe I'll post a before and after sound comparison.

this kit with the cams, did you grab a tighter spring for clutch or not needed?
