Well... after looking at the belt guard situation again today, I came up with a fix that works for me!!! I figured I could cut most of the black belt guard out, leaving just what's needed to keep the red fender piece mounted..So I taped up the swingarm and used a mini hacksaw, and just the blade with a duct tape handle, in the tight spots lol, and started cutting the bottom first, I got about two inches into it and noticed it was actually a separate piece, that slips over the part that the fender mounts to, so I unbolted it and snaked it out...
It looked better..
Then I cut the top part and removed the piece in front of the pulley..
I need to keep the top chrome guard to hide the cut out for the belt in the fender, but I think it looks much better now!!

I agree!! Thanks man!!
Well, the one good thing about having to figure this out, is I spent enough time looking at the parts, that I've already got a plan for that!!, it wont be a big deal to raise to chrome guard!! ... and did you notice in the pics how far back the axel sits on this bike?? It's almost all the way back to the rear!! and the belt is on the loose side, it could be back even a little more!! I've got OVER an inch of forward adjustment!!, and according to Jim G's calculations,...plenty of room for a "72t" pulley, about a 9% torque increase!! right? That would be sweeeet!!.... pretty sure that's what I'll go with!!
Love to see it!!...if you find it..

Ya, I'm gonna check with Southern Motorcycle Works...their web site recently changed, before, all their pulleys were shown available in 64-72t.. now it says the options are "cush-drive"?? (I don't know what that is)..or "I want my stock size" so I need to find out if 72t is still available??, or if they custom make them?? Otherwise I'll find a 70t that I like..
