This power seal I got is meant to bond into the metal also. Brass ***** Cycles recommended it. They use it on their bikes they build and send around the world. Looking at their mega dollar high quality built bikes I'd imagine they wouldn't use anything that didn't work well

I've tries a little bit on bare steel I cleaned up on a bike part that I had on a bike for months. It was subjected to rain and high humidity and it didn't show any signs of surface rust starting. I was really amazed to say the least as usually bare steels starts rusting within a day or two here. so I'm guessing on aluminium it should work a treat
If it doesn't by some odd chance, I'll give that protect-a-clear a go thanks man
cool it's probably the same stuff- just a different company vs the one on the US here. give 'er a go-

I totally remember Surfers Paradise. that place was a blast. that's one of the places I hung out the longest.

Well, thanks to LA Dog and a few PM'd links, I've got one on the way!! A mostly black 70T Dyna pulley for only $69 shipped 1-4 days, so it shouldn't hold things up much..at least now I'll be able to fab up the belt guard with that 70t, so it'll be ready when I get new one...who knows, maybe I can use it later on the BO depending how it looks in person??

I stopped by the shop today, really glad I picked this indy, a small, one man shop (Iron Mountain) in Placerville to do the work...not only did he not mind if I came by and took some pics, but I actually ended up hangin out and helping him with the tear down...even left me there alone and asked me to answer the phone while he took his dog for a walk. Gotta love a small town!!

A couple pics, with the outer...then the inner primary covers removed..

nice- i love shops like that. so few and far between now... i was at the upholstery shop today and they are pretty much as cool- let me hang out and poke through all of their stock, check out the fancy rides they were working on, take materials out to my bike, no prob.

looking forward to seeing that nice new open primary bud- that is going to be sweet.

I got the 70T pulley today!! I went down to the shop, pulled the wheel and installed it while Tim was finishing up the belt drive. I did need to use a spacer to bring the inside edge of the Dyna pulley out to where the stock one sat, the built in spacer on the Dyna pulley is not as wide as it is on the stock 66T pulley. It might have been ok with the 240 tire, but I really didn't want any less belt/tire clearance, and didn't want to get done and find out the belt rubbed the tire, and have to take it back apart....also, now with the 30/70 combo the axel sits pretty much dead center in the adjustment slot, as opposed to almost all the way back with the stock set-up.... I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow and test it out!!

Here's a couple pics, I'll get some better ones tommorow...I know!! the pulley looks bad, glad it's only temporary... and the bike wont know it's ugly, it'll work like a pretty one!!

I also received all but one of the parts today for the dash/console and speedo change out. Hopefully it shows up soon, cuz that's what I plan on doing next...

I was ready to fab up an extension for the upper chrome belt guard yesterday, but was happy (and very surprised) to find, that it went back on over the Dyna 70T pulley with no problem!! Thought for sure I was gonna have to raise it ...I'm guessing that means it will clear the custom 70T I've got comin...

Good to know! That seems to be a very tight fit tho. Will probably depend on the diameter of the collar ring.

When discussing the possible movement of the upper guard further up due to a larger pulley with my mechanic we came to the conclusion that it might be necessary to cut the guard.

At least on my Breakout the guard touches the top swingarm strut which at this point bends a little bit inward towards the wheel. So loosening the rear bolt and rotating it slightly up with the front mounting point in the stock position likely won't work due to the geometry of the swingarm.

Rocker B- awesome, I'm glad you got the donor 70 to mock it all up with, should make everything way easier once your "real" 70 pulley shows up. how far did you need to space it out- 1/8"? I can document this in the drive pulley upgrade thread for Rockers.

EagleRay- did you see JimG's Breakout and belt guard mod? they had to cut the lower guard as you suspected for the 70t. Jim posted some pics in the thread. also the top guard was raised up a bit.
