Way more than it's worth.

Are the benefits just not that great over the 96? I talked to my local shop which has been doing work forever in town, and they said about $1500 they could install a big bore kit.

With or without cams and headwork? Without, you'd be lucky to see about 1 horsepower/torque per cubic inch increase.

They were talking about the HD kit that has the 255 cams I believe, no head work was discussed at that price. My understanding was this would be the same kit the dealership would put on if a customer opted for the 103 upgrade. I probably would inquire as to the cost of a separate set of high performance heads, as I want the stock heads to remain stock.

Warp is spot on- If I were looking to upgrade a 96" I'd be leaning towards a 107 kit. here's an example, uses stock heads, $1900 installed or a grand less parts only. For $300 more you can get the upgraded level B heads. Hillside and other perf shops have similar kits. https://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-28617-...e-kit.html#fm2

Sarah that was a lot of work you did posting all that info, thanks for doing it! I have a renewed interest in the Rocker.

Oh... and I rode a 1985 V65 back in the day too...matter of fact coincidentally I just found my spare key for it the other day in a file. lol

I could not keep that front wheel on the ground at WOT in either first or second gear. It was quite a muscle bike back in the day.

Thank you! I'm happy to share. I've never bonded with a bike like this Rocker. I enjoy collecting pictures of what others have done to their Rocker and the variations seem endless. It's so easy to make them unique and personal.

Here's my V65.

This is me taking a spin on Dan's VMax.

Very cool! We had the EXACT same bike, how about that. Different seat pattern, I guess that was 84 to 85.

Yes I never looked too much at the rocker, I always wanted a springer but yours looks great with your street sweeper pipes.

Thank you! The V65 was a blast to ride. The pipes on my Rocker are the Jesse James Hell Bents. I need to make a video, they sound pretty cool.

Yes please do, the OP might be interested to hear them.

I've made several videos testing different exhaust. I'm finally happy with mine.
