Default Slim console removal advice, please.

I'm wanting to change the tank strap on my Slim. Obviously I need to first remove the console, but I'm having a problem doing that. I assume the only thing holding it down is the chrome domed nut in the middle, but having removed it, the console still doesn't want to shift. My dealer can't advise me (!) but tells me he thinks (!) that the consoles may be attached with a little adhesive as well as the nut and may need a bit of a shove. Can anyone help me out with a little advice, please? I don't want to risk anything until I have more information. Thanks.

Yep, just the domed nut, but sometimes they take a bit of force to pry them up.

If it's been sitting undisturbed for a while it can get stuck. There is no adhesive, the dealer is an idiot. Thump it on the sides a couple of times and it should come off.

Yep that's correct. The rubber on the bottom of the console can get a bit sticky if its never been removed. A good side thump will loosen it for removal. I didnt really like my tank bib either so I cut down some .45 caliber bullet casings and riveted them to the tank bib. Turned out pretty good

Jackafrica very cool. Amazingly easy to do, tedious but easy. I also took off the plastic tire valves and epoxied them into empty .45 shell casings. They fit perfectly in the shells.
