I catch some glare off the bottom of my tach mounting bracket.

As said before from another post, it does put a smile on my face alsoto know that the bike glows like that.

I don't think I've gotten a glare from my dash. Every now and then I get a pretty bad glare off my bars or headlight. Sometimes I have to ride with one hand up blocking the glare so I can see. As others have said, I enjoy the fact that it glares like that because it means the bike is nice and shiny and has plenty of chrome. It's just cool. My opinion on that may change, however, if it causes me to crash...

How ironic you brought this up. Was down in Corpus on the bike and on my return, the sun was hitting it just right and blinding the crap out of me. I was thinking at that point about some inserts.

Hows the quality of those inserts?
I was considering but was worried that its a sticker that may peel specifically if you ride in the rain much?
The quality is fine just do what fxst00 said.
Rain isn't going to bother it.
MyTexas heat might.

the Harley page is here with several styles to choose from:

Funny, I was waiting for Skip to chime in

I have the chrome tank panel all the way to the seat, never bothered me.

About one week after my new 05 was delivered, I knew I had to do something about the chrome dash panel. The glare was driving me nuts. I ordered and installed the Harley kit, that was 18,000 miles ago and it still looks like new. If such a kit weren't available I was going to paint the thing flat black.

The only caveat is you have to clean the surface well before you put on the panel cover, and you had better position it right the very first time because once on, it is on for good.

I think the bike looks better with it than with the shiny panel.
