I need to replace my fuel gauge sending unit on my 2001 heritage soft tail classic(FLSTC).

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And when it works sometimes it's accurate and most of the time it isn't.

Does anybody have the instructions and tips and tricks for removal and replacement?

Old thread but I'm having the same issue, fuel gauge is stuck on "E". '01 non-EFI Heritage.

Work the gauge out of the tank by gentle persuasion and see if the float moves up and down or is stuck in place.
