Sure. I was just poking fun. Last year I watched trains roll out of the local dealer one after another. The guys buying them were acting like the people in the Rice Krispy Treat commericals from a few years back......"OOOOOHHHHHH....you got the laaaasssstttt one." When in reality the dealer had what seemed like 50-100 of them in the back. That guy rode off and they were already rolling another one out on the floor. From the posts here alone about new purchases of trains it would seem their demand is not deminishing at all.

I admit they are sharp looking. It just seemed/seems like so many people were buying them that they have begun to lose their mystique and individuality. So it was kind of jab at the train bubbas - so many of them out there they have surpassed standard sales.

I do have a question though. It is cheaper to buy a blacked out bike and chrome it or the other way around?

The biggest difference...not as many people have a Standard.

[sm=icon_rofl.gif]D'oh! That's right, I said it.
Actually, it's the other way around. More Standards than Night Trains.

Individuality?
From a company who is mass producing hundreds of thousands of these machines?
That's a funny one.

I think we all know that if we want a little individuality, we need to customize it in our own tastes..
I look at any bone stockHarley these days and it doesn't do a thing for me because there are a few thousand more just like it right down the street.

"Individuality" is best expressed in who you are,not what you own.I have the best looking Nightrain in the United States no matter how many look exactly like it.

I heard a rumor that a guy in Indiana bought a Harley ......just to ride. That's right, didn't care to "individualize" it, just wanted a stock bike to ride. The nerve of some people

I agree. I respect honesty and integrety in a person more than any material thing.
My life at 48 has evolved down to this. A business, a family and three dogs.
Basically, I'm boring as hell!
I enjoy wasting hard earned money on stuff for the bike. I guess I like playing in the garage as much as I like to ride.
That's in my world. Yours may be different and I respect that.

One fact is certain, if you like trading in your bike for a new one, it's best to leave it bone stock.
Every cent I've invested in customizing my bike is basically flushed down the HD toilet, I'll own this one until the Rapture...

Thanks for asking George, but my '07 is as you say, "bone stock".

What will I eventually do ? Not much, just acouple of things that are improvements in form and function:

1.HD's 5 spoke chromed wheel-I like the look of it and I prefer to roll tubeless in case I get a flat.
2.V&H Big Radius Pipes-Looks and performance
3.Swap the stock HD Badlander seat for a leather version-Leather looks and feels better.
