Are you talking about the derby cover? My word of advice is to make sure you have a #27 Torx bit so you don't strip the bolts out with a hex wrench or #25 (appear to fit and come instandard Torx sets). Stand the bike as upright as possible so fluid doen't leak out. Super easy job unless you strip out a bolt
On the cam cover, the holes for the timer cover are not tapped. The original screws are self tapping, so I used them to tap the holes before I installed the timer cover. Then I replaced the screws with chrome.
What these guys said. It is a breeze, as long as you have the proper size Torx head on your socket wrench. I tried using an allen keyon the derby cover bolts, and near stripped the heads out. Finally wized up, and got the right tool for the job. Went smooth as silk after that.
The clutch cover-or trans side cover, you will need a pair of snap ring pliers to remove the ball ramp once you get the cover off. I did the side cover without loosening the clutch cable and it went fine.
