Default Deluxe boards inch off

Just wondering if anybody else has noticed that the floor boards on late model Deluxe are off by an inch. The left one sticks out from the frame an inch farther than the right. I never noticed when riding at all. Now I install Kuryakyn Mark IV. I wanted to set them up for a toe rest. Now the left one almost hits the floor board. The right is perfect. Anybody else install these and what pegs did you use? I am thinking I need some kind of a offset that can adjust to get them right. Also guys running crash bars, did you notice the difference when crash bars were mounted to the frame?
