chopped/bobbed rear fenders
#11
After cutting the fender, I ground it smooth with an abrasive flap 3M pad on a 90 degree angle grinder, and then touched up/ painted the edge black with a brush. It looks great, but you don't see much since the license plate covers most of it.
Looked kind of like this, but mine is completely covered...No metal shows so it looks more like a mushroom top.

Stock Slim headers with Paughco slip on mufflers, V&H FP3 tune. They sound GREAT!

What taillight strip are you using there? How much closer to the tyre did you move the fender, and does it touch when lowered onto the bump stops?
I can see the bike is lowered -- have you used a kit or using air ride? If air ride, can you post a pic of what it looks like when raised to ride height (or stock)?

Progressive 422 shocks lowered about one inch. Rebound is adjusted just tight enough to keep my 225 lbs off the tire. Ride is not harsh or bouncy for me. Stock ride was mushy IMO but I am used to a hardtail.
Plenty of fender clearance, the led strip helps fill some of the gap.

You did a really great job on this. Can you still fit stock seats on it? I'd really like to do this mod, but I still want to be able to put a proper touring seat on if I double the girlfriend for longer distances. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. The stock Slim seat would have actually worked with minimal modification but I did not like the way it looked with this set up. Ended up using a Le Pera bare bones seat that I found on the forum. I relocated the strut holes which caused the fender to sit lower in the struts, this forced me to modify the front seat bracket and fabricate a new rear bracket for proper fitment.
