Installing Springer Rider Backrest on Deluxe?
Hello,
I am new to the forum. So glad I found it. Lots of good information.
Here is my question to all who have installed a Springer rider backrest on their Deluxe. What is the easiest, cheapest way to do this? I saw one installed on a Deluxe at Thunderbeach this past weekend and I just have to have one. I have read several posts on this topic, but I am still confused. I read about drilling holes, ordering different parts from different places, so maybe I'm just overwhelmed with information.[&o]
I have a 2007 Deluxe and would like to put the tall backrest pad (Harley part 52827-97) for the Heritage Springer on it. What is the easiest way to do this?[sm=confused06.gif]
Thanks so much!!

Doxie, welcome.
You will need to get the springer seat rail (out of production from Harley, check ebay) and replace the stock deluxe rail with it. Then the pad will bolt up right to the springer rail. I just went with the entire springer seat/rail assembly. It's much more comfortable than the stock seat!
