Winter project 2015
Started disassembly yesterday. Ready to clean the gunk off the engine and frame. Still some Epic Journey 2014 dirt in there. Then pull the front end off for cleaning and servicing. Then compound and wax the tins and chrome.
I'm on the fence about replacing the drive belt but might be a good idea since it's this far apart, 92K miles, and two 5K+ trips planned for next year. Looks like normal wear to me. I'll look it over more closely tomorrow.
I'll pull the rocker covers to check if the rocker shafts are loose causing the ticking. Or maybe I won't. It's not that bad and it's become part of the "personality". And pull the cam cover to see what the hyd tensioners look like after 55K miles.

Most of the parts are cleaned up and polished except the tins. Had to take care of some small rust problems in the headlight ring and other places. Rustoleum rusty metal primer takes care of that after a little prep work.
All of the primary drive and old drive belt are off. Shifter shaft seal is leaking a little so replace that. Starter jackshaft seal leaking, too, but that was already on the replace list.
Decided to replace the rear shocks. They were a little bouncy on larger bumps. Upgrading to Progressive 422. It's a lot easier to get to the shocks without pesky things like fenders, wheels, and drivetrain in the way.
There is a slight chance that parts will start going on instead of off this week.

Progressive 422 shocks installed the other day. New drive belt and primary done yesterday. Hooked up the batt and turned it over a few times to make sure everything was working. Reinstalled the oil tank, wiring harness, and a few odds and ends today. Hawg Halter front brake arrived today!
HD made a good move, almost. The three piece oil drain line is now one piece except had to cut half inch off the tank end so it wouldn't rub as much on the electric panel. They didn't upgrade the clamps, too small. Had to use screw clamps.
