Default Nacelle and passing lamps

Got the nacelle for softails.....my question is do I need to drill a hole in the back for the passing lamps and will it cause the chrome to chip?

Drill a hole? My nacelle already had the hole drilled in for the passing lamp switch, did you get a HD nacelle or was is aftermarket?

Yes you need to drill a hole for the switch. I just taped both sides with masking tape, started with a small pilot hole and finish with a new sharp bit. It did not damage the chrome at all. If you don't want to drill it you could move the switch to the handlebars by using the following:

Get the housing and the on/off switch

I was going to do this but running internal wiring would require drilling holes fromt the switch housing to the accessory housing.
