I have both gaurds on my deuce (they were there when i bought it) and i was actually thinking of removing them for more of a bobbed look.
I thought about that also, but Im afraid my wife would get tangled into it. Take a look at the link I posted on the shortee belt guard.

FYI ........ Just take your time putting it on and you might want to tape off the swing arm so you don`t scratch it ! My .02 . Post some pic`s when your done ![sm=Flahssssss.gif]
Thats a good tip. Im always swinging the wrenches into the paint and forget to cover it up. I will get some pics posted this weekend. Im waiting for my new shift linkage and control levers. My wife is going to kill me!!

I swapped to a chrome pulley cover and lower belt guard at the same time. A pretty big job, but very doable for the average garage wrench. My Fatboy lower guard took about 30 min of gently pushing, twisting, and fumbling to finally figure out how to get it in place. Removingthe plastic one was a snap! (just twist and rip it out! LOL). After I was all done, what a major improvement in the "bling" factor with the rear end....!!

Looked at my stock one today and I can see two bolts holding it on. Is there more than that? This is my next mod.
