Default Oil change question on 2010 Fat Boy Lo

The HD dealer said you have to change the primary & transmission oil everytime you change the motor oil? Is this correct?

And does everyone do that?

Thanks!

NO! Read the service manual and follow. Some folks are way to ****. Don't know about your FB, but my Ultra is 5K, 10K, and 15K. I followed it for 125K miles with no issues.

I go ahead and change all mine every time, hell its only 2 more quarts, and I can tell a difference in how mine shifts after change. Im running syn 3 in all. BTW I have 2013 deluxe.

+1...this is the preferred method. Like he said, it's only two quarts and another 15 minutes. Why wouldn't you?

According to a poll here in the forums, most people use Mobil 1 V-Twin which is cheaper, or Amsoil, I use Royal Purple, IMO use any good quality syn. and you'll be fine.
