Softail Slim Seat Suggestions

The issue that I have is that I like the looks of the stock seat... Bike only has 60 miles on it. I need to take it out for a long ride and see how many hours I can ride comfortably with the stock seat...
I also have the springer seat that I took off the 48...would just need the mounting kit from HD to install it... I just don't want to mess with the looks in the seat department....
To the OP, many choices as you can see... Mustang, Corbin, etc. Having a backrest (like many of the options provide) is awesome in really long rides...
Do let us know what you end up with.

I ride a slim. I couldn't go but an hour or so on my stock seat before I started feeling it. I dropped 155$ and picked up a Softail Deluxe seat which has been awesome, but it doesn't mount on a Slim by default so some tooling is required.
I used to have a Mustang w/backrest on my Sporty. I LOVED that seat, but didn't want to drop the $$$ just yet on the seat as I have other things I wanted to do first. I'll eventually go back to Mustang.

What sort of tooling was required to wrestle the seat into shape?
Was the seat to fit the earlier -pre 2006, the models with the narrower rear fender, or later?
I'd like to see what seat options with OEM HD I can have, realising that modification is often necessary.
Thanks

I've never had a Mustang seat that didn't keep me comfortable.
They were on my last 4 Harley's and a few metrics before that.

I had my stock seat recovered and a gel pad inserted. So Much better and I actually prefer it to the Sundowner 2 up seat I also have for when I have a passenger in my plans. Wish I had the Sundowner gelled up when I had it re upholstered. Oh well. Had them done in vinyl might opt for some leather next time.
