I have a 2005 softail.I seen a plug on the right side of bike about 6" in front of the shocks.I looked in my service manual and didn't see anything about it.Just wondering what is for.

I though I read somewhere that some models have a sump/crank case drain but I could be wrong.

That sounds like the sump plug. DO NOT REMOVE UNLESS IT'S AN EMERGENCY!
The risk of cracking the case is great.
Just wondering what that emergency would be. Anybody know why its there and when it's used?? When I first got my Rocker C (not knowing better) I pulled it and there was about 6 oz. aprx. of good looking oil in there, figuring it should be there I used a turkey baster and put it back?? Glad I didn't crack the case!!
