Default Need tires for 2010 Fatboy.. Any suggestions?

I have a 2010 Fatboy Low that I have had for about a week and need to get some new tires. I have searched the forum looking for posts on tires and haven't had much luck.

1. What brand is good for mileage and ride if there is such a thing!!
2. Where is the best place to buy?

The tires I have on there now are Pirelli back and OEM Dunlop up front. The back has plenty of tread on the sides but not much down the center. I have seen sportbike tires wear like that but didn't expect the tires on a street bike to do that. They have 34 PSI.

Any comments and/or suggestions would be welcome.

I am trying the Dunlop American elite this time from motorcycle superstore . I have had three sets of Dunlops ,OEM ,402s and now elites get about 7000 miles on rear .I change front and rear at same time . I run 40 psi in rear tire ,36 in front tire. The Pirelli tires are great tire but soft compound will wear faster but grip better .

I've got a 2013 Fatboy Lo (purchased new, so it had the stock Dunlops), I've since run the Pirelli Night Dragons and the Michelin Commander II tires. I didn't notice a whole lot of handling or comfort differences between them; seemed like the Pirellis wore a tad faster (softer compounds) and MAYBE felt a little stickier, but again, I'm too dense to notice little differences like that, FWIW.

I'm in the same boat again (time to re-shoe the pony) and I'm trying to decide if I want to try the Dunlop Elite, stick to the Michelin Commander II's, or "upgrade" to the Michelin Scorcher "11" tire... decisions, decisions...

What kind of roads do you ride on? Long, straights or one with many sharp turns? That will determine what kind of compound will be used on the sides.

Do you ride in the rain? Hard, long lasting tires turn into hard plastic on wet surfaces.

I have the Dunlop American Elite on my 2008 Fatboy (3500 miles on tires). I purchased front and rear. They seem to be wearing about normal and handle well.

Houston area,

I went with the Dunlop American Elite. I got them both for $290 shipped from Dennis Kirk and paid my local shop $125 for mount and balance. The tires look great on bike. I will post a review after I have had some street time with them..

Depends on the compound used.

For example, tires that grip very well in the cold & wet will not last very long compared to tires that don't grip very well in the cold & wet.
