RE: Original oil or Syntheic
I use Mobil 1 15w50 extended service full synthetic in my bike though some may disagree.
Most on here would recomend Mobil 1 20w50 full syn for V-twins or Amsoil 20w50 full syn for the motor. HD charges the same price for their Syn3 as the above 20w50 but its not really a full syn.
Mobil 1 75/90 full syn in the tranny. Much smoother shifting and easier finding neutral.
You may get many different suggestions for the primary fluid but I haven't experienced any noticable difference in any thing I've tried that's suitable for the appliacation.

RE: Original oil or Syntheic
I was talking to the mechanic where I bought my bike and he said that I could go longer between oil changes if I switched to synthetic. He suggested that if I used regular oil I should change every 2500 miles. He said that if I switched to synthetic that I could go 5000 miles between oil changes. Since I go in every 5000 miles for warranty work, that sounded great to me. I also asked him this, if anything goes wrong while using the synthetic, will it be covered under warranty and he said yes. They have bent over backwards to make me happy in the past and I saw no reason to disbelieve him. I changed based on his recommendations. Each to his/her own, but I've been happy so far. Good luck
