Also, I am not done...this is just doing the fitting to make sure it works. I then need to take it all out and get the bracket either painted or powder coated black.
i have added thinks to bikes before with a plan in my mind, but when i get it on sometimes it just doesn't look good. although i do believe in functionality, if it's ugly, it's just ugly
Ok. Looks wrong to me. I'd be unbolting the strut and trying under. If Stiletto68 wants the tool box on hers I'll fit it under.
The struts on the Slims are slotted to fit the frame, so putting the toolbox
bracket under the strut and against the frame would cause the strut to stick out.
I dont have any pictures of the notch/blocks on the frame that the struts "register" into, sorry

This is the best picture I could find that shows the registers in the struts that
mate to the blocks on the frame. So you can see that anything under the
strut wouldn't allow the strut to seat against the frame correctly...

Correct... has to go on the outside. I tried...
I made modifications to the bracket and painted it black...
Modified from this:
To this... to make it follow the lines on the fender brackets and not come close to the seat...
These are all the parts needed...I had that spacer laying around..and made a flat plate with two holes to attach to the spacer and the bottom of the toolbox bracket.
Parts painted:
Bottom bracket with spacer in place...
Main bracket in place...
And we are done! Tools in pouch and already inside the toolbox I like it!!
