The Abs will work as normal and will not display a fault code , I done that and the wheel was death centre in relation to the fork tubes . The rear it is a breeze.

Bike looks good like you a picked up a S model on Saturday , right now not game to change anything , sorry It is a lie got the S/E cannon with caps he he he love . post picture soon like you I have switchback wheels sitting right there saying swap me swap me

Ride safe Dynaunder
Dynaunder, thank you for the suggestion. But I think you are overlooking that I am trying to use a Dyna wheel in the front. These have symmetrical hubs. If I just move the ABS bearing and pick-up sensor to the other side, I would just be moving the wheel to the opposite side.

Here is what I have today (I just inserted a 1/4" square stock I had between the fork and spacer on that side to take the photos correctly:

Right side

Left (rotor) side:

Without making modifications to the wheel... I would have to cut down the spacer in the pick up sensor 1/4" and then increase the spacer on the right side to 1". That would center the wheel.

This sensor alone is 80.00... must be careful when milling the 1/4" off it...

After that, I would have to cut the caliper by 1/4" to compensate for moving the rotor 1/4" more to the left... That would make everything work...

One of the big reasons I liked the Slim S was the spoke wheels, but to each their own.

Yes... I had the 48, initially for the looks... plus the wider front setup... I too like the spoke wheels...

The only reason I want solid wheels... well, really what I want is tubeless tires, is for the peace of mind in longer trips... to be able to quickly fix a flat with the plugs and just use the small compressor I keep in the bag to put air in it...

But like you said, to each their own. I also like the looks of these black wheels on the Slim S. Different strokes.

Now to go to the dealer and buy two ABS wheel bearings. I want to keep the stock wheels ready to be used...

I ordered one without the mounting plate...since the feedback here was that it does not work with stock pipes, figured I was going to have to make my own mounting bracket anyway...

On other news, got the bearings from the local dealer...

I also ordered a pickup sensor just in case I screw up this one in the milling machine...fingers crossed.

Cool

Removed the bearings from the rear Fat Bob wheel and installed the ABS bearing. Also installed bearings back into the stock front wheel. Every wheel is ready to be used if needed.

Here is the non-ABS (left) next to the ABS bearing (right)...

Installing bearings back in the stock wheel... ABS bearing gets installed first. This time I remembered to insert the inner spacer before installing the right side bearing.

Also took the time to remove the tire, and installed it back in the correct rotation direction for this bike... Done for today. Once the spacers get here I will continue working on the bike.

How is the 110 HO comparing with your guys old Sportster 1200 when you factor in the added weight of the Slim? I know big twin power comes on differently and happens with a lot less fuss than a 1200, but does it have more snap even with the extra pounds?

Slim S has smoother power delivery. Pulls like a train. Engine feels much better on the Softail than it did in the Touring bike.

Sportster has more character... louder, vibrates more, quick off the line... where the Slim S is more quiet, less vibration, still pulls hard off the line but everything seems to be less dramatic...

Riding back to back, the RK CVO (or even when I had the RGC CVO) with a friends RGC (103)... I could not feel any difference. I can feel the weight difference and additional pull when comparing the Slim S to the RK CVO. Same engines, but a considerable weight difference.

Balance of the bike is better in the Slim S. Lower center of gravity vs the Sportster where it tends to be more top heavy. This was never an issue with the Sportster for me. Loved that bike and wished I could have kept both... but more and more I think that I found my ideal bike.
