always wondered but never tried, what would happen to the paint if you apply rain-x to the bike. would it keep from getting water marks or just destroy the paint

I thought rain-x was only for glass? You could always test a very small and inconspicuous spot and see. But I really have no idea how it would react.

umm...why would you do that when you could just...well...wax the bike?? If you wax it properly and use a quality wax, it will bead up and run right off....

hell remember the commercial about putting pledge on your motorcycle. I never thought of that, it's wax mainly for wood.

Yea pledge is a bad plan...it actually eats through the wax and works its way through the clear coat.

Pledge is good for metal and powder coated parts, but bad for paint.

Rain-X is acrylic and will find its way into tiny pores in the paint, and it will never come out. You'd end up with a water repellent surface, but it wouldn't be shiny for long.

Don't use rain x on your paint, it's acohol based!
