Default Flushmount Gas tank covers

I am looking at flushmount gas tank covers for 2011 Fatboy. I am not sure if i want chrome or black. Since my tank are black and pipes are too. Rest of the stuff are in chrome. Will post a pic soon. So you get the idea.

Chrome will accent the instrument panel.

The flush caps look nice, but there are some reported cases of them failing to open (and it happened to me once when I pulled into a gas station on empty.. was pretty much screwed).

The adhesive holding the trim rings will probably fail eventually too. Not a big deal to stick it back down with new adhesive, if you catch it before you lose the trim ring on the road somewhere.

The other problem is that the LED's on the matching flush-mount fuel level gauge tend to fail.

If I had it to do over, I'd stick with the stock gas cap.

Any other suggestion? The stick fuel gauge is ugly lol

Going 5+ seasons on my flush mounts without a problem. I wouldn't go any other way

I haven't had any problems with them either in almost 4 years. I like the clean look of the flush mounts.

Stock-ish fatboy. I despised the stock gas caps. Too much chrome.

I like them. Wish you could get them with an old-school gauge rather than leds though.

EDIT: Ouch! $200 for the pair!? I'll stick with stock. Looks are just not worth that much to me!
