Default 07 Night Train

I was riding yesterday and road about 40 miles into DC as I arrived into town my bike began to stall and pop then it died. Got it to start up and made it a mile before it acted up again. I keep it running by holding the throttle open but it would start to stall and then it popped and shot a 4 foot flame out of the exhaust. It acts like it wants to start but it won't kick over. Tried to start it today it wouldn't kick over and now the check engine light is on. Some people said it could be a bad coil and someone said it could be a bad valve or maybe spark plugs or wires. Anyone have this happen.

Is it cranking normally?

It sounds like the typical loose battery connection, but could be the coil, crank position sensor, or stator

I'm curious about this too, last year my 07 train coughed and carried on for a few seconds until I could pull over and shut it off. I checked the bike over, couldn't visially see anything, kicked it over and it started no problems and ran well, never did I ever have that problem again and I changed absolutely nothing.

I put it down to a bit of crap getting past the fuel filter and blocking an injector momentarily. Being something with the charging was sonething I also first thought but the fact I never had a problem after I figured this probably wasn't the case

P1004 is closed relay I think and the P1351 is front coil low or something like that

Got a spare plug and lead to try on the front coil? If that doesn't sort it, work your way back from there

It happened to be that the connector that plugs into the back of the coil popped off it runs fine now
