Everyone will have different results. Before I used a tender I'd get less than 2 years out of one. I'm on 5 years on my SG and 4 years on my Softail.

I sell batteries daily at the shop. My unofficial answer to your question would be 3 years is average. This is for all makes and models of bikes though. Bikes that are on tenders usually have a longer life, and it is not uncommon to see 5 year old batteries roll through. If you got 3 years out of your battery you didn't do bad.

Mine bones battery is over 6 years old. I ride my bike at least a few times a week so it doesn't sit long periods of time. I have a tender...but only plug it in if I'm going to be away more than a week. I've probably used the tender 3 times in that 6 years.

In Minnesota, I plugged into the tender over the winter and my Sportster lasted 8 years. I haven't had one go bad on my Road Kings or my Fatboy. I think the security systems on newer bikes have a negative affect on battery life.
